The start to 2015 has been just as I had imagined it to be – back to being a kid of my parents, back to living in the home I grew up in, back to being as dependent as possible.
I was welcomed home with my wife (who is visiting the country for the first time) with a New Year’s eve party at home, something that was trying to fill in the large blanks left over the years of the umpteen new year get togethers with the family friends of the good old school days.
The seats amongst the kids were empty, as the kids had grown up, apportioned to various nooks and corners of the world.
It was a get together that wasn’t happening for a long while, something that used to happen as a matter of a routine a decade ago. The return from a month long fast, made the taste of home food even more relishing.
The weather has been kind, not exactly bone chilling as I am used to at this time of the year.. minimum of 8 degress is bearable.
